12 Verified Orgs Currently Accepting Donations To Aid Flood Victims In Johor & Pahang

The Winter Monsoon’s heavy rains in Malaysia this year has dehomed at least 20,000 evacuees in the states of Johor, Pahang, Perak, Selangor, and Terengganu.
With the confirmation of at least 3 deaths in Johor and a serious pandemic floating around, the survivors are in dire need of help.
We scoured the internet for charities that have started initiatives to help them and found 10 organisations you could consider contributing to.

The Goal: MERCY Malaysia is calling for volunteers from both medical and non-medical backgrounds for assistance to distribute hygiene kits to the victims in evacuation centres.
Accommodation, transportation, and meals will be provided to volunteers.
The Organisers: MERCY Malaysia is a non-profit organisation devoted to humanitarian aid during crisis and non-crisis situations.
The Goal: The IMAM Response and Relief Team (IMARET) is supplying relief kits and mobilising volunteers to distribute them to flood victims.
Its medical volunteers will urgently be deployed to attend to the increasing number of victims at evacuation centres.
The Organisers: IMARET is powered by Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM), providing humanitarian aid reliefs to disaster and outreach programmes in marginalised communities.
The Goal: Yayasan Maghfirah and Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) is looking for monetary donations to distribute care packages for the families affected by the flood.
Each package will be equipped with RM50 worth of essential goods and clothing.
The Organisers: Yayasan Maghfirah is an NPO that assists in the fields of education and welfare through crowdfunding. ISMA fights for the rights and interests of Muslims in Malaysia.
The Goal: Kitafund’s campaign is raising RM50,000 to supply blankets, water, and food to flood victims.
Funds will also be used to distribute face masks and hand sanitisers to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at the flood relief centres.
With 29 days to go, they’ve so far raised a total of RM 661 at the time of writing.
The Organisers: Kitafund is a crowdfunding platform dedicated to helping people with medical emergencies, humanitarian needs, and higher education.

The Goal: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society is raising funds to help the affected flood victims in Johor and Pahang.
The Organisers: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to humanitarian acts and services.

The Goal: MyCARE’s campaign is encouraging volunteers to help with the distribution and cleaning works at evacuation centres to ease the burden of flood victims.
The Organisers: MyCARE is a humanitarian relief network providing temporary shelters and fresh water in flood-stricken areas.
The Goal: Muslim Volunteer Malaysia (MVM) is aiming to raise RM875,000 for the victims affected by the flood and COVID-19 outbreaks in our country.
So far, they’re at a total of RM983 with 359 days left at the time of writing.
The Organisers: MVM aims to empower society in social responsibility to alleviate the burden of Malaysia’s needy.
The Goal: Yayasan Ikram Malaysia Pahang (iBantu Pahang) is open for donations to help the flood victims around Pahang.
The Organisers: Yayasan Ikram Malaysia provides assistance for the less fortunate and disaster relief. They include floods, fires, and landslides.
The Goal: MUDA in collaboration with the Kelab Belia Skuad Maharani (Bandar Maharani City Squad) is aiming to raise RM50,000 to help 1,000 families in 4 districts in Johor.
The funds will be used to supply food and hygiene (toothbrushes, soap, etc.) packs to the victims.
The Organiser: MUDA is a political party led by Syed Saddiq bringing forth a new identity and way of doing politics in Malaysia. Kelab Belia Skuad Maharani is a youth voluntary group in Johor in support of the government and society.

The Goal: Rakan Muda is collecting clothes and basic essentials (biscuits, rice, etc.) from the public to distribute to the flood victims nationwide.
They are open for donations this week at their office which operates from 8AM to 8PM on the weekdays and 8AM to 1PM on weekends.
The Organisers: The Rakan Muda programme was launched by Malaysia’s Ministry Of Youth and Sports. They aim to produce a generation of youth to support the nation’s development goals.
The Goal: Perak’s Youth and Sports Department (Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Negeri Perak) is collecting clothes and basic necessities to distribute to Perak’s flood victims.
They will only accept donations for untorn clothing and dried packaged foods (canned foods, biscuits, etc).
This initiative is open from January 4 to 8 where donations can be dropped off at their office from 11AM to 5PM daily.
The Organisers: Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Negeri Perak is a governmental organisation that aims to build active and united youths in the country.
To Help: Clothes and essentials can be donated at Jabatan Belia Dan Sukan Negeri Perak, Jalan Ghazali Jawi, 31400 Ipoh, Perak.
The Goal: Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah is calling for the public to donate clothing, bedding (mattresses, pillows, etc.), food, and toiletries to the flood victims in Pahang. The cut-off time to drop these items off at their office is at 7PM every weekday.
You are encouraged to pack these items in boxes accompanied with a list of items furnished in the box.
The Organisers: Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah is a charity offering dialysis treatments for chronic kidney patients in B40 and M40 groups.
The COVID-19 pandemic has already made a lot of lives difficult, and now the evacuees have to take shelter in packed buildings with few necessities.
If it’s within your means, your support of the flood victims through any of these organisations will not go unappreciated.
